December 2017 Dares

December 2017 Dares

HELLO FRIENDS. Long time, no see! Well, okay, it’s only been a couple days since Wednesday, but lots has happened, and I’m more than ready to get back to our regularly scheduled programming!

This month we have some great dares for you (all taken from my extremely long to-do list, haha … NaNo is all-consuming, like I said!). And … we also have a lot of updates. And some plans for the coming months. Though I’m trying to make this post super short so you can skim it and then next week we’ll have #awesome again.

ARE YOU READY FOR THIS?

Flowers, Part 6

That’s right! The final part of Flowers has finally arrived. Are you excited? Crying? Regurgitating? Biting your nails? Rolling your eyes and returning to your Reader/Inbox so to read better posts? Are you not even reading this?

Well, I’m sure you’ve having one of those emotions at this current moment in your life. Treasure this moment! It’s not coming ’round again, dude. Although … I’m not really a YOLO girl … y’know … YOLOUYHJ (you only live once unless you have Jesus) is my style.

I can assure you, however, that this post is a little better than my previous Flowers parts because I added images! Images make stuff better. Or … so everyone tells me. To me, they just make it take longer for stuff to load …

Flowers, Part 5

Well, ladies and gents, it’s time for part 5 of our serial story, Flowers. There’s just one more part to go after this! Can you believe it? I’m planning on editing it, maybe looking into a cover designer, and publishing it on Kindle.

As far as me supposedly being on a once-a-week schedule … I felt like posting today. *shrugs* My blog, my rules …

Parts 1 and 2 ~ Part 3 ~ Part 4

Part Five

That night, Adele awoke to the sound of rain pounding on the roof. The house creaked and sighed as the wind pounded against it. The door to the bedroom flew open; she sat up with a gasp. A flash of lightning illuminated Judy’s face, eyes wide with fright.

“Judy,” Adele said slowly. “What’s wrong?”

March 2017 Spotlight: Sun Shadow ~ the Reveal

I have a Pinterest board that was for a while secret but has been public for several months now. It’s called “Sun Shadow,” which is presumably the title of a novel. Well, yes, it is. That board contains all sorts of stuff for a novel that I’m eventually going to write, Sun Shadow.

You can find the Pinterest board here. It is mostly a random assortment of quotes with pictures of airplanes and movie stars from the ’40s (to the point where you might thing I’m stalking Lauren Bacall … who is dead … which makes it even weirder). For the most part, you can’t tell a ton about the book from the board, except that maybe it’s set during WW2 and involves a blonde and a brunette who are best friends, one of whom is an INFJ.

However, this writing will not happen for years and years. Why then do I mention it? Because that’s what spotlights are for. Well, that and the ramblings and contests and prizes.

Flowers, Part 4

Before you read this, you must promise not to hate any of the characters. Well, not much. You can hate them a little … but you can’t hate the story. Hating the story is decidedly not allowed. It’s off limits. Don’t even think about it.

As you can see, I’m testing out the ‘featured image’ setting for this theme. In my opinion, you should always have a featured image … and I never do. So, henceforth, there shall be a featured image.

Assuming I like the way this theme does featured images … so I guess that’s more of a ‘maybe’ than a ‘shall be.’

Oh, and this section has Christianity in it. Consider yourself warned. 😛

Beautiful People #22, A Free Book, and a Poem

Guess what? Beautiful People is back! *dances*

Okay, so let me be completely honest with you … Beautiful Books was fun and all … but I totally missed talking about my characters … or rather from my characters’ perspectives, as I always change the questions so my guys can answer them instead of me. Because I’m boring. But me charries? Not so much.

For those of you who don’t know, Beautiful People is a monthly linkup hosted by Cait and Sky. You can find out more about it here.

Before you read on, I have something really cool to share with you … a free ebook!

Flowers, Part 3

flowers1

Well, ladies and gents, it’s time for part three of my fantastical short story, Flowers. Are you excited? No? Well … I am. *pouts* I can’t believe you don’t like my book …

Oh, you were just teasing? *wipes brow* Whew. I was worried for a minute that you all secretly hating me and were pity-following me.

Have you ever pity-followed someone? I haven’t. I follow the people whose posts I want to read. What kind of sick human being are you!?

Okay, back on subject. You can read Parts 1 and 2 here. If you haven’t, head over and do so!

Flowers, Parts One and Two

The moment you’ve all been waiting for, my darlings, is at hand! That’s right! Parts One and Two of Flowers, my short story sequel to The Lady of the Vineyard, is coming to you … right here … right now!

Okay, so maybe none of you actually want to read this story. Whatever. Comment and say you liked it anyway!

flowers1Part One

Judy Kee was sitting at the top of the stairs, watching the door attentively. She wasn’t allowed to go outside and potentially muss up her clothes, as Granny was sure she would (despite her love for her granddaughter, she didn’t think her perfect), but Judy was quite ready to jump up at any second, her ears perked, alert for the slightest sound of her father’s car.

She ran her hand through her strawberry-blonde hair, bumping the blue ribbon to the side. She had managed to keep her dress relatively unwrinkled, though, and her shoes weren’t scuffed, so Granny’s campaign for a nice-looking little girl was succeeding at least partially.

In Which We Examine Millie Lark on a Non-Professional Basis

{Note: all the images in this post were stolen from Google images. Credit to their owners, whomever they may be.}

Today we’re going to take a peak at the inner workings of a character from The Lady of the Vineyard. Her name is Millie Lark. She is Adele Collier’s best friend. She gets all of two paragraphs of page-time in TLOTV and perhaps a mention in Flowers. However, I like Millie and am considering writing a novel (or novella) specifically about her.

Doesn’t he crack you up!? Probably he’s all like, “Is this a dress, and did a cow just lick my hair!?!”

A Bunch of Random (Fun!) Updates

This post will just be updating you on a lot of random (and hopefully fun) stuff as it says in the title. Be sure to like, comment, and share. Trust me, the fun is really fun. 😛 (Hint: pretty big discounts on my novels!)

Picture

Hi folks!

Guess what? I published my first story on Noble Novels! It’s a short story (not even 1,000 words) called Esther Ashton’s New Dress. I think you’ll enjoy it. Here’s a quick blurb:

Recently-orphaned Esther Ashton doesn’t expect much from Christmas with her brother away fighting in the South Pacific, her sister-in-law hospitalized with a new baby, and her job at the department store providing little to no profit. Will Esther have any sort of a Christmas or will it be another dud?

Lame blurb, I know. XD I hope you check it out and enjoy it. Don’t forget to comment and let me know what you think about Esther Ashton’s New Dress! Also, I don’t know if I’m gonna write more about Esther Ashton and her family or not. I’m still thinking about it. Your thoughts?
