My Favorite Excerpts from Once a Stratton

My Favorite Excerpts from Once a Stratton

As you may or may not know, I worked on Once a Stratton for Camp NaNoWriMo this year. I only went for 10,000 words (I wrote 24,593 bringing the novel to 59,749 words), but I’ve still got a bit to go. It’s going to be a lot shorter than I’d planned, though!

Returning to this world and these characters – 1850s Pennsylvania, Lilli and Chris Strauss – is like coming home again. Honestly, Lilli is one of my favorites as far as writing her goes, and Chris just has so much sass! #sassyhusbandsaremusthave #forfictionalcharactersanyway

I’ve really been enjoying it. Today I’m going to share a couple never-before-seen excerpts with y’all. Let me know what you think in the comments! Continue reading “My Favorite Excerpts from Once a Stratton”

At Her Fingertips, Blog Tour: Day 6

AFOPblogtour1

IT’S THE LAST DAY OF THE TOUR EXCEPT FOR OUR WRAPUP!!! Wow. That went sooooo incredible fast! Did y’all enjoy it? Thoughts, comments?!

Today is future day. That means we’ll be talking about novels I have yet to write, etc. It’s going to be beyond exciting! (Also, I’ll be sharing some spoilers on Facebook, so be sure to check those out if you like spoilers!)

First, let’s look at today’s posts! Honestly, some of my favorites are today! *so excited*

Alice Unanswered? What’s that all about?

Alice Unanswered_ What's That All About_

What? I have a sudden and inexplicable desire to tell you about this book! I mean, people have been asking (oh, shush, they have *pretends I have fans* *doesn’t have fans*) about Alice Unanswered, and so here goes!

I actually do have a reason for posting this right now. I hit 25K with Alice Unanswered! Now, granted, I haven’t typed it all up yet … but knowing that I have 25K is very comforting. Even if I’m not sure of the exact number.

And so … yes, I am completing turning over my plans for this year in which I wasn’t going to start writing AlUn until April. Right now, this book is begging to be written … and who am I to refuse?

Finishing The Chronicles of Alice and Ivy

Finishing The Chronicles of Alice and Ivy

This was a post I planned for just before the 12 Days of Christmas party, but I ended up doing other post and saving this one until later and whoosh! It’s January!

In this post I’ll be talking about my plans for finishing off the rather long and complicated series that The Chronicles of Alice and Ivy is … and how a small, over-achieving bit of me wants to do that this year.

(Also, before I forget, HAPPY NEW YEAR MA PEEPS. I hope 2018 is an amazing year for you! God bless!)

NaNo Update #4: Almost There!

almost there

Guess what? I hit 40,000 yesterday! *cue cheering* Only 10K to go! Well … until I hit my goal. After that, I’ll probably have another 10K of writing until the book is finished … maybe more!

I feel like I’m not very far into the book yet. I’m officially on point 19 out of 38. So … almost twenty points to go. So technically I could get up to 80,000.

However, I don’t think I will. I think I’ll end up skimming over a good half of the points or reassembling scenes as the story progresses. And, of course, revisions will take out a big chunk in the end.

TDS and IvIn Blog Tour: Day 7

blogtourgraphic

Good morning, ladies and gents! We’ve only got a little less than a week of blog tour to go … and though that is sad (I want people to keep on talking about me – I mean, my books – forever), it’s also good that soon I’ll be back to my normal posting schedule.

A couple things I forgot to say before:

I’m going to announcing both the giveaway winners and one other thing (that is important … and hush-hush just now, so shhh!) on Saturday morning (as early as possible, though it may drift into afternoon knowing me).

Also, if you have a burning desire for a signed paperback copy of one of my books, that is a possibility (if you’re in the US; I can’t ship out of country). It costs just a couple dollars more than a paperback would cost you on Amazon + shipping and handling.

So #expensive. I’m thinking about $15 for TDS or IvIn and $12 for TLOTV. But I need to work on it. I’d like to charge less, but I have to pay to have them shipped here then pay to ship them to you … which is expensive.

TDS and IvIn Blog Tour: Day 6

Here I am on this glorious (103 degree) Sunday afternoon, writing this post and wishing I was in England. Where 80 degrees is a heat wave, according to one of my English friends. Or Scotland. I’d rather be in Scotland than England, to be honest. Or Ireland. Either one.

Seriously, though, I don’t mind the heat. It isn’t accompanied by tremendous humidity here like in some states, so it’s not unbearable. It’s great for swimming (even though I’ve yet to swim this year, haha).

Today we have a vlog (yippy?! It made this post ridiculously late because it takes ten years to upload, but that’s all right …), and I’ll also be talking a little bit about my plans for spin-off short stories/novellas for this series.

TDS and IvIn Blog Tour: Day 5

It’s release day! *excited dancing*

You can now purchase IvIn in Kindle. (Not that I expect you to, but that it is a possibility.) Paperback may take a while to get out, perhaps upwards of a couple days, but it will eventually. (Sorry for the delay … once again, busyness abounds!)

For the release day, not a ton of stuff is happening, although there is a Facebook party (though it may be over by the time you see this). This is an even briefer post than normal, actually … it’s mostly to announce today’s bloggers and inform you of the publication!

However, I’m hopefully going to be sending out a newsletter (*gasp*) and posting on Reveries Reviews later today. So there’s that. #lamesauce

TDS and IvIn Blog Tour: Day 4

blogtourgraphic

Day 4 has finally arrived, and today I’ve made some slight changes in the way this tour will be running. So, without further ado, I’ll be telling you about them. Because I don’t believe in keeping poor, innocent readers waiting.

Vlogs will be every other day instead of every day. I’m sorry, but don’t you think that would be too many vlogs otherwise? Also, all the posts would be three years late (instead of just two …)! So, there will be a post today, Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday (which will be a wrap-up/exciting announcements post).

The Q submissions for the Q&A post will be wrapping up next Tuesday, the 27th. Hopefully, the Q&A video will be posted on the 29th. Which … I guess is what I originally planned, now that I think about. But I needed another announcement. ‘Cause I said “announcements.” XD

Other than that, nothing has really changed. The schedule has some minor edits, but that shouldn’t cause anyone too much bother.

TDS and IvIn Blog Tour: Day 2

Annnnnd it’s Day 2! *everyone celebrates* *dancing in the streets* *salsa splashes everywhere* *its a salsa party*

I … have no idea what any of that was about. So … yeah. Lots of .. salsa. I don’t even like salsa. #hatestomatoes #notaspicyperson

So, today we have a couple fun posts, an informative vlog (don’t worry; they all won’t be information-packed; there will be some funness, too), and all the other stuff. And I finally remember to mention something else that I’d intended to mention earlier. *facepalm*
