Hi guys! Can you believe it’s time for another Beautiful People? I know I say this every month, but wow. Time flies. It really does.
This month I’m interviewing a character from the novel I’ll be working on during April, Once a Stratton. Her name is Lilli Strauss, and she’s the main character of the aforementioned story. I believe you’ve heard of Lilli before. If not, there’s no time like the present to meet her. 😉
Before we dig into the questions, take a look around you (assuming you’re viewing this post on my blog). Notice anything … different? *flips hair*
(I’m not sure why I felt a need to flip my hair. It was an impulse. It must make sense, right? Or are my impulses really that random? Your thoughts?)
Guess what? Beautiful People is back! *dances*
Okay, so let me be completely honest with you … Beautiful Books was fun and all … but I totally missed talking about my characters … or rather from my characters’ perspectives, as I always change the questions so my guys can answer them instead of me. Because I’m boring. But me charries? Not so much.
For those of you who don’t know, Beautiful People is a monthly linkup hosted by Cait and Sky. You can find out more about it here.
Before you read on, I have something really cool to share with you … a free ebook!
That’s right! The Lady of the Vineyard is free on Amazon Kindle today. Get it now! You should ’cause it’s a great book. It has people in it. *nods*
Hi guys! You remember Beautiful Books, right? Well, you should. I did the link-up for October … but not for November. Because I forgot. And was too busy writing an awesome novel. (*insert sarcastic laugh*)
Well, we’re back in January to do the final Beautiful Books before Cait and Sky return to Beautiful People. This month’s theme is ‘editing and goals.’
Now, because Beautiful People is a month late, I’ve decided to rebel and not answer these author interview-y questions.
Instead, Miss Claire Marie Chattoway of The Dressmaker’s Secret will be answering them for me. *nods*
I didn’t know about this because I … I just didn’t, but around this time every year, Sky and Cait take a break from Beautiful People and do Beautiful Books instead to celebrate NaNo.
I figure this is a good idea for me to do now, as I’ve been getting the basics of At Her Fingertips assembled in my head, starting the pre-outlining (what?! The more perfectionistic you are, the more outlining you need to do to even finish a terrible, horrible, no-good, very bad first draft!), etc.
After all, I’ve got tons and tons of little details … and sometimes it’s a good time just to take a step back and say, “Okay. We’ve examined every tree as thoroughly as any golden retriever. Time to take a step back and look at the forest. Like a border collie.”
What? Border collies are scientifically proven big-picture thinkers! Okay, I just made that up …
So … here are the questions. 🙂
You may not have noticed, but I was too busy to do last month’s character study, so I’m doing it today. 🙂
There are ten questions here. You can also find them on Morgan Dusky’s amazing blog, Studies in Character. Remember to check them out and perhaps do them yourself!
The theme this month is ‘celebrations & parties’ (as you can see by Morgan’s amazing new graphic).
I’m interviewing Alice Knight as an eighteen-year-old from At Her Fingertips. As I’m working on developing her (and her fellow main-ish characters) this week, filling out these questions was really great (and a lot of fun!).
Hi, guys! It’s time for Beautiful People #21! In case you don’t remember (which means you have an awful memory! Or … you started following this blog recently! Either way!), it’s a character interview hosted by … well, you can see the links in the banner up there ^ so I don’t think I need to tell you. 🙂
Anyway, I’ve done #18 and #s 19 and 20 so far. Time for #21! This time it’s random questions that I really had to twist around a lot so I could ask my character them directly. See the original questions here.
Today I’ll be interviewing Princess Jessamine of Killeen from the esteemed Caught in a Spell. I interviewed Crowned Prince Taevian of Gigia (aka “Tae”) a while back here. He’s making comments on her replies in italics.
A couple months back I did Beautiful People #18. I forgot (well, didn’t have time) to do #19 (Random Questions), so I decided to answer those now. 🙂 I’ll also be answering the questions for #20, which is Appearance.
What is Beautiful People? Well, you can find out anything you want to do about it here. It’s just me asking my characters questions, yada yada. Today I’ll be interviewing Troy Kee, a character from The Lady of the Vineyard (again).
Note: I changed the questions around a little so they’re asked directly as the character instead of to the author about the character.
